Exhibitors presented some of the latest innovations in the sector of health ingredients
Bringing together the principal companies in the ingredients industry, the exhibition in tabletop format that was an integral part of the event presented to the market some of the latest innovations in the sector of health ingredients, natural ingredients and functional ingredients.
Danisco brought to HiSA its Howaru® Probiotic Tubes, which promise to revolutionize dairy juices and drinks. The tube ensures survival of probiotics in all drinks, without the need for refrigeration. “Microorganisms remain stable for 12 months at ambient temperature and the tubes are made of recyclable material,” says Ary Bucione, the company’s business director for South America.
A highlight from Döhler was its Yellow Orac and Red Orac Superfruits – 100% natural fruit concentrates that can be added to any dairy drink, juices or ice cream. “One litre of juice with the measure indicated by Döhler corresponds to 10 portions of fruit. Drinking this liquid can avoid deterioration of the cells and improve cardiovascular health,” Döhler executive Jane Vieira said.
MasterSense, in partnership with Kievit, presented the Vana-Sana line, of Omega-3 in powder form (EPA and DHA) obtained by a process of microencapsulation which makes it possible to include it in products such as shakes, and biscuit fillings of various flavours. Marcelo Gouveia, of MasterSense’s marketing department, says this is an excellent way to obtain the benefits of these polyunsaturated fatty acids through foods that are tasty and closer to the consumer’s diet.
